What can you tell us about the wedding?
“It was held in Chapas Mexico. It was a beautiful Mexican wedding. We had it outdoors in a beautiful garden.”
How did you meet? What was your first date like?
“I sent her a smile on Christian Mingle. We started talking that night. 5 months later, I flew to Mexico from Texas to meet her. I stayed with her at her house with her mom and sister. That week, me, her, her sister and niece went on a road trip to the north of her state. We saw mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and the Mayan ruins. We went on boat rides and ate at various restaurants. During that trip, I asked her if she wanted to make it official … she hugged for a minute, then said “Let me think about it … ok.”(YES) lol. That day was April 16th, 2019, coincidentally the birthday of Selena, who she is a fan of.”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
“There was really no particular moment, but over the course of that year we continued to talk every day through WhatsApp. She would visit me next in July 2019 then I flew to see her in Mexico again October 2019, then she flew to see me in Texas again January 2020. It was during that week in January that we talked about marriage. I was going to propose to her April 2020, but due to Covid we had to wait. There was no telling when I could see her due to travel restrictions, so I proposed to her on video chat with the ring in August of 2020. She said yes, and not long after, the travel restrictions were lifted and I was able to see her in person for the first time since January 2020, which was October 2020.”
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members, who are still looking for love?
“Be patient! It took me 9 months of searching, sending smiles, talking to several different women on the site, before I met Yara! You may not meet the one God has for you overnight, but me and Yara are living proof that you CAN meet the right one God has for you if He is willing for you two to meet on CM. Pray about it and see if this is the place God wants you to be. Also, do not limit based off location. God told me “search for women all over the world, not just in your town.” So I broadened my search on CM and I met Yara. If I hadn’t of obeyed God, I would be missing out on His best! I never flew in a plane before, didn’t know how to get a passport, didn’t know how to buy a flight ticket, or navigate an airport and here I am. God made a way.”
