Si’Ara and Ed each sent us a story separately about their journey and how they met on Christian Mingle! They recently got engaged on February 20th, 2020. Christian Mingle is so pleased to have played a role in their love story and wishes them all the best for their wedding plans and future together!
What can you tell us about the proposal?
Ed says:
“We are getting married 7-25-20. Our engagement was as chill as we are! We had been discussing getting married for a few weeks, when we decided to go to the “courthouse”. So we began to research what the “courthouse” would entail. When we realized that there was a 24 hour wait requirement; we decided that we should probably let our parents know what we were up to and especially seek the council of a man of God… so we headed to see our folks and the General (pastor)… and now we’re planning a wedding! Our wedding day is a year to the day of our first message on Christian Mingle!”
Si’Ara says:
“It was no surprise. We had both agreed that we were the ones we had prayed to God and asked for. We both cried as we lovingly looked in each other’s eyes and thanked God for one another. We’re thankful we didn’t go to the courthouse like we initially planned, and are now looking forward to our wedding set a year after he sent his first message to me on Christian Mingle.”
How did you meet? What was your first date like?
Ed says:
“We met for lunch at a barbecue restaurant. Then we played laser tag, and arcade games followed by go-kart racing where Si’Ara cheated and successfully stole my heart.”
Si’Ara says:
“We decided to try to meet halfway between our home cities which were 3 hours apart. Our first date felt sensational and we didn’t want it to end. We met for dinner, went to a “fun-park” with laser- tag, go carts, arcade games and fun competition. We left there right before they closed then went to another restaurant to talk until they closed. For another couple hours, we sat outside on main street, talked, laughed and watched cars go by. We were finally convinced to head home when it started raining.”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
Ed says:
“We shared an emotionally intimate moment where I just knew!”
Si’Ara says:
“It’s hard to pinpoint one certain moment. As we interacted, I realized more and more, how Edgar embodied the virtues of the man I had asked God for. I continually recognized his worth and genuine heart. He continually acknowledged my worth and his love and appreciation. Liking him was easy, loving him came natural. My heart, thoughts, and emotions felt safe with him. We could completely trust and confide in each other.”
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members, who are still looking for love?
Ed says:
“Ask God in prayer for what he has in store for you and wait for his answer.”
Si’Ara says:
“Don’t give up. God truly blessed our socks off! He’ll do the same for you.”
