Sarah & Aaron: "We felt God calling us to get married"

Sarah and Aaron first met face-to-face at a coffee shop in 2017. During that first coffee together Sarah felt as though she was meeting an old friend. From that moment on there was no stopping their love which continued to blossom and grow; they married this year in April. Christian Mingle is so pleased to have played a role in their love story and wishes them all the best for a lifetime of happiness together!

What can you tell us about the wedding?

“My husband Aaron and I got married on April 5, 2020 in a small ceremony at our church in the midst of the Covid19 lockdowns. We decided that even though it was not the original wedding we had planned with the big reception and all our family and friends, we felt God calling us to get married despite the world falling apart around us. It ended up being more than we could have asked for; an intimate gathering with only 10 people on a beautiful spring day. We met on Christian Mingle in the fall of 2016, got engaged in October 2019, and are now living the newlywed life.”

How did you meet? What was your first date like?

“Aaron and I met face to face on January 1, 2017 and a local coffee shop. I was so nervous I waited in the car for ten minutes, texting him how nervous I was, before I mustered the courage to go inside. It was cold outside but Aaron was warm and inviting. It felt like I was having coffee with an old friend. After that, we went ice skating, had dinner, spent time driving around looking at Christmas lights, and spent hours talking in the car.”

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!

“I spent the good first few months of knowing Aaron wrestling with hurts from my last relationship which ended up putting him in the friend zone, but after after several other dates and time in prayer, I found myself realizing that the perfect guy for me was already in my life and I couldn’t let him go. I told Aaron I loved him on November 3, 2017 and we began our exclusive relationship.”

What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members, who are still looking for love?

“I would say be patient and take it slow. There are some amazing guys out there on Christian Mingle, just like my husband, but you have to weed through the ones that are maybe not being completely honest. Talk on the phone first, and keep the first date light and casual; pray earnestly for guidance and your future spouse. Also, make sure he is on the same page as you in his walk with Jesus so you can grow together and not apart. That is one of the things that really attracted me to Aaron was what a faith filled man he was, and he is always growing.”
