What can you tell us about the wedding?
“Our wedding was small but beautiful. My father is a pastor and he was more than willing to marry Sara and I. Our relationship has been a whirlwind of awesomeness. God truly orchestrated our relationship from the beginning. It was truly the Lord that brought us together.”
How did you meet? What was your first date like?
“Both of us were at the end of the rope when it came to online dating, even using Christian Mingle. We had both had experiences that left us wanting. I remember scrolling through the seemingly endless profiles until I saw my sweet Sara’s super cool pink hair and amazing smile. I was hooked! She responded quickly and from then on we couldn’t go five minutes without talking. From messages to video “dates” and bible studies together. We were crazy about each other and still are!”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
“I’ll never forget it. I was driving early morning to work and Istopped at a gas station. At the time she lived in Florida and I in California, so time and distance were at an all time high. Even though we had only been talking for such a short time and we hadn’t met in person I knew it in my soul that Sara was the one for me. I remember praying and just knowing in my heart that I had fallen in love with her. I texted her, “I think I am falling for you”. She responded instantly saying, “I am too”. Later that day I told her! I was overjoyed and a little scared but I trusted the Lord.
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members, who are still looking for love?
“Never give up. That would be the SECOND piece of advice I would say. The first is to always, ALWAYS put Jesus first. When God is the center of your identity, He will lead you to the right person. Constantly pray and constantly seek the Lord in this journey. I am ever thankful for my sweet Sara, because I know that Jesus made her just for me. Life has not been easy for either of us, and the scars that have been inflicted on us remain. But Jesus always works the good for us because we love Him. never lose hope. Never be afraid to follow what God has called you to be, even if the whole world thinks that you are crazy for getting married after two months. We love each other beyond anything I can put into words. But more importantly, we love Jesus more than we love each other and that, my friend, is the most important step in this journey.”
