I was on Christian Mingle for a couple of years because hardly any of the guys I knew in church ever asked me out, most of my dates came from guys I met here (and the dates were few and far between). The more guys I met, the more I narrowed my profile and definition of the ideal marriage partner. By the time Ryan logged on for the first time, my profile basically said, “If you don’t love Jesus 100%, don’t even bother!” Little did I know how much this would help. Yes, it drove many away, but those who pursued beyond the profile knew what to expect.
One night I was bored, and browsed some profiles. I saw Ryan’s – and he didn’t even have a picture up yet. Simply by what he had written, I found him interesting and a possibility. I smiled. That was all it took. He logged on the next day (his second day on Christian Mingle), saw my profile, and the rest, as they say, is history.
We dated for a year and a half, with me moving closer, he losing his job and gaining a new one, and crazy other circumstances, but God led us the whole way. On April 3, 2010, I married my best friend, and our love continues to grow every day.
For those of you with HIGH standards, don’t give up. Our first kiss was at the altar after the pronouncement of “man and wife” – my dream for over ten years!
Blessings on your search, but remember, it is God who works things out for good in our lives when we trust in Him. To God be all the glory!
