Deborah and I both joined Christian Mingle about two years ago. We both thought about joining a year earlier, but decided not to. Then, we both signed up a year later. At the time, neither of us knew that a year before, we were being pulled toward each other. Finally, we both signed up and started the process.
We both talked to other people, but nothing clicked. Neither one of us ever had a date with anyone on the site. I came across her profile picture and decided that she was out of my league. So, I didn’t contact her for about a week, but I couldn’t get her out of my mind. I decided to take a chance, and said “hi.” She responded. We talked online for about a week and then we talked on the phone. We talked for about a month before we met, and began to fall in love with each other during this time.
Deborah lives in Fremont, California and I live in Santa Rosa. We were about an hour and a half apart. On October 13, 2011, I drove to meet her for our first date at Claim Jumpers. I brought her the biggest bouquet of roses I could find. We had the best first date ever. We laughed so much; just like we did on the phone. When I walked her to her car she gave me a quick peck, jumped in her car, and took off like she was in a high speed pursuit (she works for the police). I found out later that she was just embarrassed. It was so cute. To make a very long story short, we have been inseparable ever since.
On September 23, 2013, I asked her to marry me. Of course, she said “yes.” She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I thought I would never meet someone at this age that I could fall in love with, and that it would feel like it did when I was young. I am 46 and she is 48. She is the funniest, sweetest, most compassion-filled person I have ever met.
I want to thank your organization for bringing us together. We never would have met because of the distance between us. It’s because of your work and faith that made this possible. We owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Praise be to our God, the Most High. I am finally going to have a wife. Not just any wife, but the love of my life. I hope that I can, and will be, the love of her life. Thank you so much, Christian Mingle. We hope to get married early next year and our looking into doing a destination wedding in Hawaii with just the two of us and God. That is what is important. Again, thank you so much for everything. We are so happy! Deborah is my baby, goofy as all get out, but still my baby.
