How did you meet? What was your first date like?
October 16th, 2011 is the day I “met” Daniel. Daniel had just moved to a new area. He is in the Army (a medic!) and this was the third base he had been stationed at and so he decided to sign up to find a church in the area that would have young adults. He wasn’t planning on finding a wife or really planning on getting married at all.
I had my criteria: the main one was close to but not necessarily right in the area I was from. Because he was looking for a church, he wanted someone from the exact area that he was living. He was in Tennessee and I in New York.
We both received the suggestions Christian Mingle gave, which were great, but I paid more attention to the people I met in the chat room and that is where Daniel and I met.
In December, after two months of talking, Daniel flew all the way from Tennessee to New York for a weekend. We met at the airport for the first time at the airport. I got butterflies in my stomach when I saw him walking around the corner and up to the sliding doors. Our first date was at Olive Garden. We talked about ourselves, our families. We already knew each other but it was nice to be able to be with him and hear his answers.
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
There wasn’t a romantic moment when I knew it was true love. Not even our trip to Niagara Falls! I knew when I was dropping him off at the airport and I started to cry. Crying over someone I had known in person for three days was not something that I would usually do! I had been talking with Daniel for only two months and spent only three days with him in person but I knew I was in love with him.
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members?
BE PATIENT! Look at the suggestions given to you but don’t only do that. Go into chat rooms! Make friends! Have fun! See how they are in social situations and in private. You have to be involved. There is no point in letting Christian Mingle do all of the work. They are helping. You need to work for the relationships you form.
